Oriental Arms

Page history last edited by Morgan Hirsch 2 yrs ago

In early December of '06, The Oriental Arms burned to the ground in the early morning hours. Urbana Grappler Kelly Yearwood took credit for the destruction.

The Oriental Arms hotel has been said to look like a fancy Chinese restaurant which was bought out and made into a hotel. In as much as it’s decorated with deep red walls, black lacquered wood, gilt trim, and numerous statues of Buddha and dragons and other Oriental knick-knacks. The latest flagship hotel of EC Featherby is situated in the South East corner of the Northwestern regency, near Division Street and the river, which also makes it conveniently close to the Pillar Court. At the Oriental Arms, Regent Featherby makes available several interior rooms meant for the use of vampires, provided at no charge to whoever should ask for their use. Recently a madam named Jenny Buckholz has arrived at the Oriental Arms. She runs soiled doves in the hotel primarily for the delectations and appetites of the city’s unliving, as EC has made clear.

Attached onto the Oriental Arms hotel is the Speakeasy Lounge. The establishment very much resembled a Portillo’s restaurant, only without the waxwork and hotdogs and more vampires than were usual. It was furnished with a lot of thoroughly stained dark wood, dim lighting, and most surfaces were covered with authentic City of Chicago curios and ornaments: old election pins, famous headlines, sports memorabilia, antique street signs, and flashy advertisements dating back to turn of the century. The biggest draw of the room is that Degoutante is provided free of charge. The Speakeasy has an alley-side door, and a door from the hotel. The Speakeasy is most certainly not an Elysium.

Happy hour begins promptly at three in the morning.
