Clan Nosferatu
But see, amid the mimic rout
A crawling shape intrude!
A blood-red thing that writhes from out
The scenic solitude!
It writhes!–it writhes!–with mortal pangs
The mimes become its food,
And seraphs sob at vermin fangs
In human gore imbued.
-Edgar Allan Poe, "The Conqueror Worm"
From the depths of the sewers to the heights of the skyline, the Chicago Nosferatu infect the city with their discomfiting presence. While frequently at odds with others, and often (if not moreso) with themselves, these kindred cannot deny the certain familiarity bred by common contempt, and are drawn together in spite of their mutual disgust. Most commonly involved with the darker elements of the city's populace, this disparate band of criminals and malcontents contaminates Chicago with a spreading plague of fear borne by each rat-like deliquent these monsters come into contact with.
