Covenants

While Clan is something a Kindred is Embraced into, A Covenant is more along the lines of a political affiliation. Sometimes young Licks are forced into one, but usually it is a personal choice. It is not unheard of for Kindred to have belonged to different Covenants over the years, though the deeper one tends to get (and the more secrets one learns) the harder it is to leave.

There are five common Covenants in the modern Requiem:

The Carthian Movement: Young and idealistic, these Kindred seek to overthrow the feudal systems of Vampiric Society, dragging it kicking and screaming into line with modern day politics and philosophy.

The Circle of the Crone:

The Invictus: Power hungry and Competent, these Kindred seek to ascend the feudal systems of Vampiric Society, knocking down those above them and climbing to power over the crushed bodies of their enemies.

The Lancaea Sanctum:

The Ordo Dracul:

The Unaligned: Loners and Individualists, the unaligned generally don't fit into the others, or just want to be left alone to persue their own goals, or just stay out of reach of the corrosive nature of power in vampiric hands.
