Clay Donovan

Embraced in Chicago almost 20 years ago by Harrison Whyte (E.C. Featherby's immediate predecessor as Invictus Regent), Clay Donovan was formerly an arson investigator for the Chicago Fire Department. Since his embrace into Clan Ventrue, Donovan has retired from active duty, but still periodically serves as a private agent for several insurance firms, investigating suspicious claims. He's known to still maintain a number of friendships and connections to local law enforcement and city offices, and has even proven willing to assist other Kindred in the city with placating them when things get a bit too public.

Unlike Whyte, Donovan claims membership in the Ordo Dracul - something his late sire actually seemed pleased with, if not actually encouraging, from the get-go. Donovan has flung himself into his Covenant's works with great enthusiasm, often poking through old maps and researching information about the Great Fire and the time immediately after. On his infrequent appearances in the Elysia, he sometimes seems as concerned about "making sure the furniture is in a harmonious state" - or at least a fireproof one - as he does socializing with the politics of the day.
