Titles of Esteem
This title is used most commonly within the First Estate. This is a description of your relative age within the covenant. Neonates get them upon embrace and as they progress their titles change with their blood.
Miss/Master
This describes a Kindred who has been embraced but has not been released into Invictus society.
Madam/Mister
Once entrance into the covenant has occurred the Kindred then receives one of these titles. Meaning that they are a full member of the First Estate.
Alder
Once a Kindred ages well above the others of a city they obtain this title. The Invictus has a special relationship with elders and acknowledge the difficulties a achieving such age.
Titles of Function
The use of titles of function describe what a Kindred does. This helps to organize the Invictus of a city, provide conversation when first meeting and provide prestige for your skills.
Advisor
An Invictus title for a member of the Primogen. There are Advisors’ Guilds, involving courses of study in politics, academics, debate, expression and emotional manipulation, among others.
Advocate
A specialist in public relations or activism to promote the interests of the Covenant.
Almoner
A vampire who makes it a profession to care for the less fortunate , either in Kindred or mortal society, or both.
Archon
The Invictus title for a Hound.
Au Pair
A specialist in elementary training for neonates: basic vampire survival and etiquette, Discipline use and Masquerade preservation skills.
Commissioner
A vampire trained in the judicious distribution of resources. Generally, a Commissioner is called upon to administer plans that require the co-ordination of several vampires’ material goods or contacts.
Councilor
A member of the Inner Circle. This title supercedes any other title of function the vampire may possess except, of course, Prince.
Groom
A keeper of herds. This may refer to mortals or animals.
Interpreter
A translator and specialist in matters of subterfuge.
Judex
A professional judge and settler of disputes within the Covenant.
Knight
An oathsworn soldier. Distinguished from a Soldier by membership in an established Order of Knighthood with its own traditions and oaths of conduct. Orders of Knighthood replace titles of esteem with Sir or Dame. Formal address is Sir Knight or Dame Knight.
Librettist
A professional connoisseur of arts and entertainments.
Meister
An acknowledged expert and instructor in any field of study who oversees a Guild.
Minister
The Invictus title for Herald.
Notary
A professional witness to declarations and recitations of oaths.
Player
A professional artist or performer.
Reeve
An Invictus title for Sheriff.
Secretary
The governor of Guilds in a city. Without acknowledgement from a Secretary, a Guild may not officially exist.
Senator
A professional philosopher and advisor; may be called upon to give council on spiritual matters or interpret occult occurrences.
Soldier
A professional warrior who is not sworn to an Order of Knights.
Speaker
A specialist in matters of etiquette and diplomacy.
Steward
A preserver of valuable artifacts. A Steward may also be an individual who has taken on the responsibility for an elder vampire in Torpor, ensuring that all arrangements are made to welcome him back when he wakes, and caring for him, if necessary.
Technologist
An expert in the study and application of Disciplines, including the experimental development of new Devotions, categorization of Bloodline-specific powers and observations other “foreign” abilities (such as Cruac or Theban).
Titles of Tribute
the use of these titles is nothing but an award for a job well done in the service of the Invictus. Different than actual seats of office, here noteworthy deeds can be acknowledged and rewarded.
Lord/Lady
The lowest level of Titles of tribute, this marks an achievement or a completed task in the name of the First Estate. This title has also been know to be handed out based off of good lineage as well.
Baron/Baroness
The Kindred has proved himself many times in the call of duty. This title is never awarded based of of lineage marking the first 'true' title.
Viscount
This is given when someone has been given domain of their own. In the eyes of the covenant they have won land for the First Estate and deserve to be honored.
Earl
When someone conquerors a domain they are given this title.
Marquis/Marquise
When someone is given a permanent place on the Inner Circle this title is awarded. Typically this means that they can do no wrong and that death alone can remove this title.
Duke/Duchess
This illustrious title is held for individuals who conquer a city. Only one person may have this title. Even death cannot remove it.
